Khenmo Tsering Lhamo

Ordained in 1990 at Shugseb Nunnery in Tibet, Khenmo Tsering Lhamo has dedicated over three decades to the study, practice, and teaching of Buddhist philosophy and ritual. A graduate of the Nyingma Nunnery Institute in Himachal Pradesh, India, she holds a Master’s in Buddhist Philosophy and has advanced studies in the profound texts of JigmĂ© Lingpa, Longchenpa, and Nagarjuna.

The title “Khenmo,” the feminine form of Khenpo, signifies mastery in Buddhist philosophy and teaching, an honor rarely bestowed upon women. Her October 2025 arrival at Tara Mandala marked a historic and inspiring moment: the flowering of decades of commitment within the Tibetan nunneries, and a living example for practitioners around the world.

Khenmo Tsering Lhamo is in residence at Tara Mandala on a sponsored visa, offering students an extraordinary opportunity to connect with her vast knowledge and deepen their understanding of the Dharma.
