Sparky Shooting Star

Sparky Shooting Star is a Sun Dancer of Cherokee & Irish decent who has led vision quest ceremonies for almost 20 years. Sparky started working with Lama Tsultrim Allione in 1988, when Lama Tsultrim asked her to lead the sweat lodge ceremony at the first Dakini Retreat. Sparky and Lama Tsultrim also have a long-standing, tender personal history as Sparky lived with Lama Tsultrim’s family and was a helper to her while her children were growing up. Sparky lead vision quests during the first Family Retreats at Tara Mandala.

Sparky lives in Massachusetts, where she works in mental health, supervising a clinical team, using the Windhorse approach to recovery, developed at NaropaUniversity. Sparky leads a ceremonial community in New York. Mary Thunder is her main traditional teacher who ordained Sparky as a minister of BlueStarChurch.
