Nina Rao

Nina Rao learned traditional chants from her grandfather in a village in south India when she was a young girl. The chants quietly stayed with her until she rediscovered chanting with Krishna Das in New York City in 1996. Nina moved often as a child and spent time living in many countries. When she eventually settled in New York, her work included banking, running wildlife safaris in Africa and India, and serving for many years as business manager for Krishna Das, regularly touring with him. In January 2013, she released her debut album, Antarayaami—Knower of All Hearts.
