Chögé Jenny Terbell
Chögé Jenny Terbell is a mother, writer, and teacher. She has practiced Tibetan Buddhism since 2009 under the guidance of Lama Tsultrim Allione. She is a graduate of Magyu: The Mother Lineage, a fifteen-year journey of deep practice, study, and joy. She now serves as a Kalyanamitra, a mentor to others on the Magyu path. In 2023 Jenny received from Lama Tsultrim the title of Chögé, which means virtuous teacher of dharma.
Jenny has spent the last decade raising her two children, guiding women’s circles, and teaching meditation and body-based practices. Her teaching is rooted in her experience as a mother, woman, and dharma practitioner. Her work makes the ancient wisdom of the Sacred Feminine and the extraordinary Tibetan Buddhist spiritual tradition accessible to mothers. In doing so, she envisions the healing of our motherline, the collective raising of the feminine, and the awakening of bodhichitta in every family. She is currently writing her book, Meditate Like A Mother, forthcoming from St. Martin’s Essentials in Spring 2028.
Jenny is a certified Feeding Your Demons® facilitator, trauma-informed somatic practitioner, and dreamwork teacher. She has a private practice and teaches at Dharma centers in the Bay Area. She holds a BA from Stanford University, an MFA from New York University, and taught writing for ten years on the faculty at NYU. Jenny lives with her husband and her two children in San Francisco, California, where she loves to swim in the cold waters of the bay.
