Tracing the Lineages of the Great Perfection - VIRTUAL RETREAT
With H.E. Chung Tulku Rinpoche
January 6 - 27, 2021
A Tara Mandala Virtual Retreat
Dzogchen, or the “Great Perfection,” is one of the most ancient streams of wisdom within Tibetan Buddhism and is regarded by many to be the pinnacle of the Buddhist path. Dzogchen presents the most direct methods for realizing our true nature, which is pristine awareness, called rigpa in Tibetan. Amidst the many Dzogchen lineages, there are a myriad of spiritual practices taught in accordance with each unbroken oral tradition.
During weekly teaching sessions, H.E. Chung Tulku Rinpoche will trace the historical lineages of Dzogchen that have remained uninterrupted to this day, teaching particularly on the three lineages of transmission: the mind direct transmission of the buddhas (Tib. gyalwa gong gyü), the sign transmission of the vidyadharas (Tib.rigdzin da gyü), and the oral transmission from special individuals (Tib.gangzak nyen gyü).
H.E. Chung Tulku Rinpoche will offer these teachings via Zoom on Wednesday morning for four (4) consecutive weeks — see the specific dates below. He will be supported with translation by Luke Hanley.

What is a Virtual Retreat?
Virtual Retreats are Tara Mandala At-Home intensive retreats, teachings and in-depth workshops during which practitioners receive dharma teachings, engage in guided practice, experience hands-on learning, and connect with other participants through an easy-to-use online platform (Zoom) during consecutive days (with few exceptions) and daylong offerings. This modality of learning is appropriate for practitioners who are able to create a practice container of their own, setting aside a dedicated retreat space, removing themselves from social media, and taking care of necessities with the mind of compassion in action for the specific dates and times that the teachings occur.
Virtual Retreats are meant to be attended live given that direct transmission (Tib. lung) may be given. However, access to recordings of the sessions are available for additional viewing for various timeframes specified by the price level selected.
