The Mandala of the 5 Wisdom Dakinis: Experience the Enlightened Feminine
With Lopön Karla Jackson-Brewer MS
September 26 - November 21, 2016
The NYC Tara Mandala Sangha is pleased to offer an 8-week series exploring the concept of the mandala principle, and the expression of the divine feminine in Vajrayana Buddhism. Lama Tsultrim Allione has developed this teaching and practice to bring transformational personal work into the container of spiritual practice.
In this series you will be introduced to the five Wisdom Dakinis. Dakinis are female wisdom beings. They represent our ability to give birth to, embody and live our full range of potentialities. The term Dakini is Sanskrit. It’s Tibetan equivalent Khadro means “one who moves through space”.
We will identify how our own obstructed, negative patterns of confusion, anger, pride, craving, and envy manifest in our daily lives and then have an opportunity to transform them into their corresponding wisdom expression. By connecting with the Dakinis you will learn how to have these energies as a resource in your everyday life. The series will involve guided meditation, art, sound, and some movement. The series culminates with the transmission of the 5 Wisdom Dakini Mandala practice, as developed by Lama Tsultrim Allione.
